soil lift revetment

The following pictures chronicle the installation of a bio-engineering technique called a Soil Lift. The Soil Lift consists of a dirt "burrito" wrapped in biodegradable coconut fiber and supported by a sloped stone revetment that dissipates wave and ice energy. The Soil Lift is planted with native shrubs and trees for long-term shoreline stability via root structure.
